Long Exposure

Experimental Photography

Academic Project

Tools
Canon Camera, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom

Challenge
Capture motion and energy through photography using only in-camera techniques, relying on timing and movement rather than digital effects.

Goal
Create experimental long-exposure images that visually express motion, light, and atmosphere through hands-on camera techniques.

Approach
Shot in manual mode using f-stops between f/8–f/11 and shutter speeds ranging from 15 seconds to 2 minutes. During each exposure, intentionally moved the camera to create dynamic light streaks and layered motion effects, allowing each image to evolve organically through experimentation.

Solution
Produced a series of abstract, motion-driven photographs that explore light as a design element. The final images highlight an understanding of camera fundamentals while showcasing a creative approach to capturing movement, energy, and visual rhythm.
